BURROWS ATTORNEY INDOOR CRICKET TEAM TAKES SILVER!

2021 saw Burrows Attorneys enter the Werksmans Attorneys Corporate Indoor Cricket League at the Sandton Action Arena. The squad, largely comprised of professional Burrows Attorneys members reached the final by only losing one match in the group stages and beating teams from larger companies such as Nedbank Ltd, BDO and Epoch Engineering.

Being together in a non-working environment has created a tighter organizational bond which impact has been seen throughout the boardroom. While the season was riddled with delays and COVID-19 disruptions, the team from Burrows Attorneys grew from strength to strength finishing the group stages at the top of the log before the COVID-19 break took place. Due to their position in the standings with a semi-final guaranteed, Burrows Attorneys decided to forfeit the remaining 3 matches and isolate in line with the COVID-19 recommendations at the time. The squad returned to an easy victory over Nedbank Ltd in the semifinals before ultimately losing in the finals to the better team on the day.  

“Playing this season has been brilliant, not only has it brought us closer together but it has been a much needed distraction to all the negativity plaguing the world at the moment, I can’t wait for the next season to take place” said Jed Behrmann, an associate in the Dispute Resolution Department.
